    Lafayette's Community Development Department administers several programs and oversees funding that supports social services, streets and sidewalks, parks, historic preservation, housing and neighborhood revitalization.

    The Engineering Department is responsible for reviewing requests, applications and issuing permits for projects involving building, rights of way, utilities, and ordinance enforcement.

    The Facilities Department is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of 20 City-owned properties and lighting.

  10. Fire Department

    The Lafayette Fire Department's mission is to respond to the needs of the citizens of Lafayette in a timely manner through continuing public education, multi-agency and community cooperation, quick response, and a desire to make Lafayette a safer place to live.

  11. Fleet Maintenance

    The Lafayette Fleet Maintenance Facility's mission is to offer high quality and reliable service in an economical, timely, and professional manner.
