Columbian Park Zoo Express

All aboard the Columbian Park Express Train!  Visited all the exhibits at the zoo but don’t want to leave quite yet? Let our train conductor take you on a fun and unique ride through Columbian Park!  Sit back and relax in the comfort of our train suitable for patrons of all ages.

The train runs, weather-permitting, during the Zoo opening hours with the last ride leaving 30 minutes before the Zoo closes.

Train tickets: $2.00 per person, per ride (children 2 years and under ride free!)

Group rates: $1.50 per person, per ride for groups of 10 or more paid riders.

Please note, the train cannot operate when tracks are wet, so consider weather conditions before making your purchase. Train tickets are non-refundable.

The Columbian Park Zoo Express is in operation (weather-permitting) during the Zoo's open season mid-April through mid-October. During its operating season, the Express runs during Zoo open hours.  Please check in the gift shop for train departure times on the day of your visit.

Wild Tykes Play Zone

You can’t leave the Zoo without checking out the Wild Tykes Play Zone! This pre-school aged fun area is located just on the outskirts of the zoo near the zoo administrative building. The Wild Tykes Play Zone is home to three kiddie rides including the helicopters, small boats and horse and buggies!

Riders must be 42” or below in height and not exceed the posted weight restrictions. Children must also be a minimum of 3 years old to ride the helicopter ride.

Kiddie Ride Tickets: $1.50 per person, per ride.

The Wild Tykes Play Zone kiddie rides are open daily (weather-permitting), from Memorial Day weekend through extended Summer Hours (mid-August). Beginning when Fall Hours go back into effect (mid-August), The Wild Tykes Play Zone kiddie rides will only be open on the weekends through Labor Day.
