This "hauntingly-friendly" event is perfect for your pre-school and elementary school-aged children. The event features a nightly kid’s costume contest, fun games, cockroach painting, Mad Scientist Laboratory, and the Enchanted Train Ride. Our night of delights also includes live entertainment and the Columbian Park Kiddie Rides.

Proceeds benefit Friends of Columbian Park Zoo, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.

Ticket Information:

Tickets: $8 per person (kids 2 and under FREE) available at the gate on event nights

Advance Tickets: $6 per person (kids 2 and under FREE) available online or at advance ticket locations

Advance tickets will be on sale from September 30 through October 24, 2016 (end of business day) at the following locations:  

  • Arni's (Market Square, Wallace Ave., 350 S., Rossville, Shadeland, Frankfort)
  • Once Upon a Child
  • Purdue Federal Credit Union (Lafayette and West Lafayette branches)

Tickets are good for any event night this season, but are non-refundable.  Please note this event is rain or shine, but is subject to possible cancellation in the event of severe weather.  Sorry, no refunds will be made in the event of weather-related cancellation.

Individual and group volunteers are needed for this event. To sign up please email:

Volunteers assist with running kid's games and activities, as costume characters, and with line/crowd control, amongst other tasks. Tons of fun and a great way to support the community!

What's Included With Ticket Purchase:

  • All games and activities including the Mad Scientist Laboratory, Cockroach Painting, and spooktacular games with candy stops (while supplies last)
  • Enchanted Train Ride (weather-permitting)
  • Wild Tykes Play Zone kiddie rides (all rides are weather permitting, only individuals under 42" tall are eligible for the kiddie rides, and riders must also be at least 3 years of age to ride the helicopter ride)
  • Nightly Costume Contest at 7:30pm (no fee to enter, must report to costume contest arena prior to 7:30pm)
  • Pumpkin carving - one free pumpkin per paid event ticket (while supplies last)
