Greenbush St & Elmwood Ave The intersection of Greenbush Street and Elmwood Avenue in Lafayette is set to CLOSE starting on or about Monday, October 3, 2016. This closure is part of a large city stormwater initiative, and will include installing a 60” sewer pipe under the intersection that will tie into an existing pipe located at 27th Street. The intersection closure will last approximately 10 weeks. The detour for this area will include Melbourne, Vinton and 29th streets. See attached detour map for details. Please use caution in this area and watch for signage. Plan your route and allow extra time for detour and increased traffic. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve city-wide stormwater efficiency.

October 3rd - mid December
Park East Blvd
Vectren will be closing Park East Boulevard at McCarty Lane, Monday October 3rd to Wednesday October 5th. The detour will be Mezzanine Drive. The closure is for the installation of a gas line.

October 3rd -5th
Poland Hill Road Townsend Tree Service will be closing Poland Hill Road from Eckman Drive to Beck Lane for the removal of a large tree. The closure will be from 7 am to 6 pm on Monday September 26th and Tuesday September 27th. Please use Old U.S. 231 as a detour. Watch for signs and avoid the area just south of Poland Lane and Poland Hill Road.

September 26th-27th
8th Street  
Starting Monday, September 26th, after Main Street is opened back up, Milestone Contractors will be closing 8th between Main Street and Ferry street. The closure will last for three weeks. This closure is for removal of sidewalks, and installation of new storm drainage and sidewalks as part of the Main Street Streetscape Project. All business will have access during construction, sidewalk access will be limited. Watch for signs and use caution in the area.

September 26th - October 18th
Main Street Starting Wednesday, September 21st, Milestone Contractors will be closing Main Street between 6th Street and 7th street. The closure will last till the end of the day Monday September 26th. This closure is for installation of new storm drainage and waterline as part of the Main Street Streetscape project. September 21st-26th
City Hall Starting Wednesday September 7, 2016, the south entrances of City Hall will be CLOSED for reconstruction of a new plaza area. For approximately 3 weeks, PUBLIC entrance will only be available on the Columbia Street side of City Hall. The utility billing drive-through will remain open throughout construction.
 
Parking for those wishing to access City Hall we be available in the following areas:
- Surrounding streets, including ADA designated spaces on Columbia Street near open entrance
- ADA only designated spaces in the parking lot east of City Hall
- Spaces designated in the parking lot west of City Hall (includes one ADA)
Upon completion of the plaza, public parking in that area will no longer be available and patrons wishing to park and enter on the south side of City Hall will be able to continue to use newly designated spaces (which include ADA) available in the City Hall lots directly to the west and east of City Hall. Plenty of parking options are also available on South Street across from City Hall, as well as other on-street parking surrounding City Hall.

Sagamore Parkway
Restore Sagamore Parkway Phase 1 remains one way northbound from Teal Road to Kossuth Street for the duration of that project.

McCARTY LANE TO BE CLOSED TO WESTBOUND TRAFFIC BEGINNING TUESDAY, MAY 31

On or after May 31, 2016, the westbound travel lanes of McCarty Lane will be closed just west of Sagamore Parkway. This area of the Restore Sagamore project will last till the beginning of November. McCarty Lane will be open to eastbound traffic only from Main Street to east of Sagamore Parkway. In addition, Sagamore Parkway will be open to northbound traffic only from Teal Road to Kossuth Street. Access to all businesses will remain open. Detour map is attached and detour routes include Creasy Lane/South Street, Creasy Lane/Main Street (SR 38) and Teal Road/26th Street/Earl Avenue. May 31st-
Sagamore Parkway On or After April 7th Milestone Contractors will be closing the southbound lane of Sagamore Parkway between Teal Road and Kossuth Street for the next phase of the Restore Sagamore project. Sagamore Parkway will be NORTHBOUND ONLY between Teal Road and Kossuth Street. Two detours are possible with this closure. One detour option utilizes Teal Road, South 26th Street, Earl Avenue and Kossuth Street. The second detour option utilizes Creasy Lane and South Street. Follow the detour signs closely and plan your route to allow for more time and increased traffic in this area. April 7th - Spring 2017
18th Street

Crider & Crider will have a full closure (no thru traffic) of South 18th Street beginning on or after April 11th. The closure will be from Veterans Memorial Parkway to County Road 430 South and will use South 9th Street for a detour. This phase will be for widening the road to four lanes, doing significant underground sewer work, adding sidewalk, adding a trail on the west side and adding a pedestrian bridge. County Road 430 South will remain open during this phase of construction. Anticipated reopening is late summer or early fall 2016. Watch for the detour signage and allow extra time for travel in this area.

April 11th - Early fall 2016
2nd Street

Work begins on the much-anticipated Old National Bank headquarters/MARQ development project. Edwards-Rigdon Construction Company will be closing the current south bound lane, the right turn lane and west side sidewalk of 2nd Street from Main Street to Columbia Street beginning Wednesday January 27th, 2016. This is for the demolition of a building and the construction of a new building. Use caution and watch for the signs, barricades and fencing. Restrictions will remain through the duration of the construction period until project completion, which is expected in February 2018.
