John T Myers and Riehle Plaza Bridges

Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers and Riehle Plaza Bridges

Yates Construction, Inc. will begin work on the construction of a new ramp connecting the Myers and Riehle Plaza Bridges on or about Monday February 1, 2016.  The work will also include the demolition of the existing stair step  fountain at the base of the western Riehle Plaza Bridge stair case, as well as the construction of a new overlook platform facing west towards the Myer deck.

At times, traffic may be restricted to the northern stairway to allow for work on the fountain/overlook.

The Myers Pedestrian Bridge will be open January 9th.

The John T Myers Pedestrian Bridge and Riehle Plaza Bridge are scheduled to re-open to the general public on Saturday, January 9th by 5:00 p.m. Pedestrians are advised to use caution. Some areas near the railings of the bridge may continue to have limited access as crews finish welding. Any remaining work zones will be protected with fencing to ensure public safety. Thank you for your patience during this substantial bridge project. The City of Lafayette looks forward to providing a much improved, safer pedestrian bridge for the community to enjoy.

The Depot at Riehle Plaza will remain closed until further notice.
