Fugitive Search

There are nearly 1,200 active felony arrest warrants on file at the Lafayette Police Department. In May of 2004, the Lafayette Police Department teamed up with local television station WLFI TV 18 to bring area viewers "Fugitive Search."

Fugitive Search is a weekly news segment that highlights 1 person wanted on warrant. The person is typically wanted for a felony offense that has been investigated by the Lafayette Police Department. Upon request, we will occasionally feature fugitives who are wanted by other law enforcement agencies.

Fugitive Search airs weekly on WLFI TV 18 during the 6 p.m. newscast. It is typically re-broadcast on the 11 p.m. news and again on the Friday morning newscasts. There have been approximately 200 fugitives featured on Fugitive Search. Approximately 60%, or 110, of the featured fugitives have been apprehended. The Lafayette Police Department thanks the hundreds of WLFI TV 18 viewers who have provided tips for this program.
