Lafayette Police Hire Three Officers

On June 12th, 2020 the Lafayette Police Department welcomed three new officers to the department.  They were sworn in by the honorable Tony Roswarski.  All three recruits will begin their training on Monday and will attend the Indiana Law Enforcement academy at a future date.

Officer Mason Bishop:

Mason Bishop is a 2016 graduate of Harrison High School and a 2020 Graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Law and Society.  Mason is looking forward to interacting with the community and the service opportunities that brings. 

Officer Clinton Plake:

Clinton Plake comes from the Center Grove, Indiana area.  He graduated from Center Gove High School in 2010, and Purdue University in 2015 with a degree in Law and Society.  Clinton served in the US Navy from 2015-2020 as an Assistant Chief Engineer aboard the USS Gettysburg.  Clinton chose the Lafayette area because he enjoys the size and environment of the city and the opportunity to serve.

Officer Joseph Zacharek:

Joseph is originally from Edwards, New York.  He is a 2010 graduate of Edwards Knox central school.  He attended Penn State University and served in the US Army for 3 years as a Tank Crewman.  Joseph has served his whole life and wants to continue.  He visited Lafayette and fell in love with the community.  Joseph looks forward to continuing his life of service in this community.
