Lafayette Police Investigating Double Homicide

 
LAFAYETTE, INDIANA – September 1st, 2020 –

On August 31st, 2020 at 11:14 pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 1900 block of N 16th St.  When officers arrived they located two males in the roadway that were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.  Identification of the two males is pending from the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office.

Officers located Jaelynn Billups (17) at the scene of the incident.  Billups was arrested for robbery and murder.  Anyone with any information about this investigation is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department at 765-807-1200, or through the anonymous WeTIP hotline at 800-78-CRIME.     














The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
