On September 7, 2015 at 10:37am the Lafayette Police Department responded to 318 S. 5th Street Apartment #8 in regards to a chemical odor coming from within the apartment. A maintenance employee for the apartment complex had arrived there to perform work and notified police.
Upon the arrival of officers, an Inactive Methamphetamine Lab was located inside this apartment. Arrested were:
Bryan P. Hewitt, 51 of Lafayette, Indiana. Jessica C. Omand, 32 of Lafayette Indiana and Wayne C. Furman, 43 of Lafayette, Indiana.
Hewitt was charged with Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Furman was charged with Dealing Methamphetamine.
Omand was charged with Visiting a Common Nuisance.
The Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppress Team assisted our agency in the processing and clean-up of this lab.
