Date: September 20, 2015

At approximately 1:13am, the Lafayette Police responded to the 1800 block of Windemere Drive due to several reports of shots fired. Arriving officers located a residence where the back door had been shot out and a round had entered into the dwelling. Inside this residence was an elderly female and her grandchild. They were not struck by the gunfire. No injuries or other damage was reported by anyone else in the area.

Officers spoke to witnesses and residents in the area and processed the scene. It is believed that the suspect(s) fled the scene immediately after the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
