[ARCHIVED] Residential Entry and Aggravated Battery investigation

At 1903 hours, 12-21-15, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Perrine St, in reference to a residential entry and battery complaint. Upon arrival, Officers detained several individuals inside and located a victim on the floor in the basement. The victim suffered a serious wound to his head and was transported to St. Elizabeth East ER for treatment.

At this time, investigation is on-going. Officers are attempting to locate three suspects, described as black males wearing all black clothing. They possibly left the scene in a maroon SUV.

The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
