[ARCHIVED] Domestic Disturbance

On Wednesday February 3, 2016, at approximately 12:32am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a reported domestic disturbance at the Town Place Suites (Marriott), located at 163 Frontage Road. It was reported that a male and female had been physically fighting at that location. Upon arrival, the first responding unit learned that the victim of this disturbance was unresponsive. The victim was not breathing, and had no pulse. The officer immediately began to render aid, and performed CPR on the victim. The officer’s efforts were successful, and the victim regained a heartbeat and began to breathe on her own. Additional medical treatment was provided by the Lafayette Fire Department, as well as TEAS. The female was transported to a local hospital, where she received additional care. She was later admitted in critical but stable condition.

Additional Lafayette Police units located the suspect near the scene. Officers arrested Brett R. Seyfried, 26, on preliminary charges of domestic battery and strangulation. Seyfried was booked into the Tippecanoe County Jail on those charges.
