At approximately 3:00am on March 8th, detectives with the Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force and officers with the Lafayette Police Department Street Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department and Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, arrested 5 subjects involved in dealing narcotics in the City of Lafayette. This case stemmed from an investigation that developed over two weeks.
The incident began on the aforementioned date at a local hotel in the 4200-block of South St, near I-65. After dealing methamphetamine, Lafayette Police officers attempted to pull the suspect over, however, after being stopped, the suspect then fled the scene of the traffic stop. Deputies with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department and Clinton County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle in Clinton County. After the suspect, Brian Gaby, ran on foot, a police K9 was used to track and apprehend the subject.
The investigation also included two residences, one in the 1900-block of Greenbush St and one in the 1900-block of Morton St. During the investigation, 58.4 grams of meth, 16.8 grams of heroin, and 2.5 grams of cocaine were recovered. Two firearms were also seized during this incident. All five suspects were arrested and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail. Their names and charges are listed below.

In a related incident, on March 8th, at around 9:00pm, detectives with the Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force and officers with the Lafayette Police Street Crimes Unit arrested a suspect involved in dealing methamphetamine. The incident occurred in the 4200-block of Commerce Dr. The Drug Task Force recovered 22.6 grams of meth, as well as a firearm that the suspect had on his person. The name and charges of the arrested are listed below.
