The City of Lafayette and the Lafayette Police Department express our sincere condolences to the family of fallen officer, Carl Koontz, and the members of the Howard County Sherriff’s Department. We recognize the difficult struggles all experience in such a horrific incident. We also want to recognize our appreciation for Sgt. Jordan Buckley and pray for a quick recovery. Our hearts go out to the Koontz family, the Howard County Sherriff’s Department, first responders, and the entire Howard County community.
