[ARCHIVED] 19th & Schuyler Village Pantry Robbery

At approximately 2:00 am a Lafayette Police patrol officer pulled into the Village Pantry parking lot at 1901 Schuyler Avenue and noticed a black male wearing a face covering inside the store. The officer observance of the man’s movements appeared to be a possible robbery event. Before the officer could intervene, the man quickly exited the store and fled the area on foot. The officer made contact with clerk and discovered an armed robbery had just occurred. There were no reported injuries to the clerk and there were no witnesses in the store. Items of value were stolen during the robbery.

The alleged robbery suspect is described as a black male, slender build, about 5’11” tall. A thorough search of the area was conducted, however no suspects were located. Officers continue to follow up on information received in this case.
