Manufacturing Meth Amphetamine & Drug Arrest
The Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Lafayette Police Street Crimes Unit, made an arrest on May 6th at 2007 Perrine Street for illegal drug lab and possession of heroin. The investigation was developed through leads and case facts.
During the early morning hours of May 6th, around 12:30 am, Drug Task Force officers and Street Crimes officers spoke to 29-year-old Alton Brian Hines at 2007 Perrine Street. During the investigation with Hines, officers located items related to an illegal drug lab. The residence was immediately evacuated and the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team was called to assist with the investigation. Lafayette Fire Department personnel and medics were also summoned to the scene. No injuries were reported.
Items collected during the investigation indicated an active meth lab was being operated inside the home. Hines was also arrested for possession of heroin. The investigation is on-going.
