The Columbian Park Zoo will close the gates for the 2016 season on October 15. The Zoo will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. that day.

“We’re very pleased with how well the 2016 season went. The weather was great all summer long and the Greater Lafayette community came out in droves to enjoy and support the Zoo,” said Zoo Director Dana Rhodes. “We are looking forward to an even better 2017 season.”
The Lafayette Kiwanis EdZOOcation Station was a new addition for the 2016 season. It provided an outdoor platform for live-animal demonstrations, where the public could get up close to animals and further their education of different animal species and conservation.
“The EdZOOcation Station had a successful first season. We look forward to continuing the use of that location in the development of our interpretive programs as well as furthering our conservation message in the coming years,” said Zoo Education Coordinator Amber Frederick.
The Zoo will re-open for the annual Boo at the Zoo event October 26, 27, and 28 from
6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. each night. This family-friendly event is geared towards pre-school through elementary aged children and features a variety of Halloween-themed activities, including the “Enchanted Train Ride”. More information can be found at www.columbianparkzoo.org.
The Zoo will continue to offer outreach programs, on-site classes and birthday parties during the winter months.
