Indiana Pacers and Lafayette Police Team up for Toy Giveaway for Families in Need
Pacers Cares, Fever Cares “Season of Giving” Effort to Involve Seven Indiana Cities
The Indiana Pacers and JAKKS Pacific Inc. have reached out for the last seven years with major toy donations to Hoosier children during the holiday season. In celebration of the Pacers’ 50th season, JAKKS Pacific is providing toys to 50 non-profit organizations throughout Indiana. The Pacers organization selected the Lafayette Police Department as one of the organizations to receive 3,000 toys to distribute to local youth as part of the Pacers Cares initiative and the Pacers’ Season of Giving.
In an effort to best connect to families in need of support, the Lafayette Police Department has partnered with Matrix Life Center and the YWCA to distribute the toys throughout the holiday season. On December 15th at 2:00 pm the Lafayette Police Department along with the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever, will kick-off the Greater Lafayette distribution of the toys with a ceremony at Matrix Life Center at 938 Mezzanine Drive. The ceremony will include a visit from Pacers mascot Boomer, Fever mascot Freddy Fever, the Pacers’ Fan Van, the Pacemates and Pacers executives. Also on hand will be local dignitaries, members of the YWCA and Matrix Life Center, as well as and members of the Lafayette Police Department with a group of local children on hand to receive the toy donations.
All members of the media are welcome to join and help us spread the word about this exciting community outreach initiative.
