On February 11th, around 12:20 am, the Lafayette Police Department received a complaint of underage drinking at the Ichiban restaurant at 2 South4th Street. Police were informed minors were being served alcoholic beverages at the bar. Police arrived and stopped restaurant operations due to the large crowd size and evidence of underage drinking.
Once the problem was identified, a joint investigation between the Lafayette Police Department and Indiana Excise Police was conducted. Officers identified and cited 64 individuals for minor in a tavern violations. Those cited were given a written summons with a court date and released from the scene. The Indiana Excise Police is continuing the investigation for other possible violations.
