Homicide Suspect Arrested

On June 29th at approximately 2:15 pm, the Lafayette Police Department arrested Odum L Carter (31) of Sun Prairie, WI on a Felony Murder and Armed Robbery warrant through Dane County, Wisconsin.  Police learned through a tip Carter was staying at a hotel in the 100 block of Frontage Rd.  Investigators followed up on the lead and determined there was a possibility he was staying at the hotel.  Police obtained a search warrant to locate Carter.

The warrant was served at the hotel room where Carter was believed to be staying.  The Lafayette Police Department SWAT Team, with the assistance of the Hostage Negotiation Team, Street Crimes Unit, and the US Marshall Service, arrested Carter without incident.  Carter was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail for the warrant.  There were no local charges.
