On July 17th, around 10:30 pm, 14-year-old Jasmin Perez and her parents were in the downtown Lafayette area when she willingly ran away. The Lafayette Police quickly learned of Jasmin running away from her parents and searched the downtown area for her whereabouts. Jasmin was not located overnight.
The parents of Jasmin Perez filled out a runaway report. On July 18th, around 1:00 pm, Jasmin was located by police and is safe. The Lafayette Police thank the community and members of the media for their efforts to assist police in cases such as these.
