Multiple arrests made after drug investigation
On September 5th, the Lafayette Police Department Street Crimes Unit conducted a narcotics investigation in the 900 block of N 8th St. Officers received several community complaints in regards to drug activity taking place at a residence at this location. During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence. Officers located and seized 11.76 grams of methamphetamine, 2.71 grams of cocaine, and one handgun.
Officers arrested seven people as a result of the investigation. Brian Phillips (48) and Rhonda Head (44) were arrested for possession and dealing of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia. Adam Martin (26) was arrested for possession and dealing methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and visiting a common nuisance. Anthony Wooten (38) was arrested for maintaining a common nuisance, possession of cocaine, and possession of paraphernalia. Ryan Cunningham (26) and Dakota Thompson (21) were arrested for visiting a common nuisance. Zachary Ireland (35) was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of cocaine.
