Domestic Disturbance results in Stabbing, Suspect Arrested


On September 7th, 2017 at approximately 8pm the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 1500 block of N 12th St for a report of a male that had been stabbed. Officers determined that the male victim had been stabbed during a domestic disturbance.  The suspect, Janet Hopkins (59) fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival. 


The male victim was transported to St. Elizabeth East to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.  He was later released from the hospital.  Janet Hopkins was later located and arrested for battery with a deadly weapon.  Hopkins was transported to a local hospital for an unrelated medical issue.  Hopkins will be transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail upon her release from the hospital.
