Lafayette Police Swear-In and Promotion Pinning Ceremony


On Friday, September 29th, 2017 at 12:00 pm, the Lafayette Police will welcome two new patrol officers, Danny Anthrop and Matthew Emmons.  On that date, the Lafayette Police Department will be at a full staff of 142 sworn personnel.


Danny Anthrop is a 2012 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 2015 Graduate of Purdue University with a BA in Law and Society.  After playing football collegiately at Purdue, Anthrop continued his football career with the Indianapolis Colts and Montreal Alouettes. 


Matthew Emmons Graduated from Portage High School in 2011 and is a 2014 Graduate of Indiana University Northwest with a BS in Criminal Justice.  Emmons comes to the Lafayette Police Department from the Ogden Dunes Police Department in Northwest Indiana.  Emmons is a 2013 graduate of the Indiana University Police Academy.  


Also, there will be a formal pinning ceremony for Scott Galloway who was promoted to Lieutenant on May 24th, 2017.  Lieutenant Galloway has been an officer with the Lafayette Police Department since 1998.  Lt. Galloway has been assigned to Administrative Services where he will oversee Community Outreach & Crime Prevention.
