Columbian Park Zoo will close the gates for the 2017 season on Saturday, October 14. The Zoo will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. that day.
“The 2017 season was a great one for the Zoo. We are extremely thankful for our community and their support of the Zoo,” said Zoo Director Dana Rhodes. “We can’t wait for the start of the 2018 season.”
Columbian Park Zoo unveiled revamped education programs in 2017. These programs provided opportunities for children in the community to further their education by exploring the animal kingdom and learning about conservation.
“We are very pleased with how our new education programs went during the 2017 season. We are excited to continue to develop and grow these programs during the winter months and into next season,” said Zoo Education Director Amber Frederick.
The Zoo will re-open for the annual Boo at the Zoo event October 25, 26, and 27 from
6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. each night. This family-friendly event is geared towards preschool through elementary aged children and features a variety of Halloween-themed activities, including the “Enchanted Train Ride” and a new Halloween light display.
