[ARCHIVED] Four suspects arrested as a result of fraud investigation

Fraud suspects arrested


On October 23rd, 2017 at 12:50pm Officers from the Lafayette Police Department responded to Chase Bank at 201 Main St, Lafayette for a report of four people in the drive thru attempting to pass fraudulent checks.  When officers arrived they located the suspect vehicle still in the drive thru.  Officers made contact with the occupants and were able to determine that three of the occupants were involved in passing the fraudulent checks. 


The following three suspects were arrested as a result of the fraud investigation:


Jonathan Moorehead (33) –Driver

  • Carrying a handgun without a license
  • Theft
  • Check deception
  • Forgery
  • Fraud on a financial institution

Jerwhon Price (28)

  • Theft
  • Check Deception
  • Forgery
  • Fraud on a financial institution

David Milton (27)

  • Forgery
  • Wanted on unrelated Lafayette Police warrant

The fourth passenger in the vehicle initially lied to officers during the investigation about her identity.  Officers were able to determine her real identity as Shaquita Curtis (29).  Curtis was arrested for false informing and for a warrant through Lake County, Indiana. 


All four suspects were transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
