[ARCHIVED] Travis Nichols Arrested

On January 10th, fugitive Travis Nichols was arrested through a collective effort by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department, Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force and the Lafayette Police Street Crimes Unit. Nichols was located and arrested in Gary, Indiana.  Nichols escaped from an Indianapolis medical facility in December.  As a result of the escape, warrants for his arrest for escape, dealing, and possession of methamphetamine were issued.  Nichols was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail and is awaiting sentencing.   

                                                        

The fact a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
