Homicide Investigation

On the morning of Friday, March 2^nd, Lafayette Police responded to a report of a shooting incident in the area of South 9^th Street and Virginia Street. Officers arrived and located a victim, only identified at this point as an adult male.   The man is deceased and the case is being investigated by police as a homicide.

This does not appear to be a random act and it is not believed that the public is in any danger at this time. Police continue to investigate the scene and will we communicate any updates or information.
