Shooting Investigation on Everett Street
On May 12th, at around 3:00 am, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of Everett Street. Officers arrived and were advised by witnesses of having heard several shots, and after hearing the shots observed vehicles speeding away from the scene.
Officers, while on-scene, located evidence of a shooting, but no victim. CSI officers were called to the scene, as well as detectives. While officers investigated the shooting on Everett Street, officers found that the victim, Robert J. Barnes (30), had been transported by his wife to a local hospital to be treated for two gunshot wounds. Barnes is reportedly in stable condition.
