Lafayette Police Asking for Help Locating Suspect

On June 22nd, 2019 at 2:13am, the Lafayette Police Department received a report of an attempted robbery in the 600 block of North St.  A 25 year old female was walking home from work when a male walked up to her from behind and attempted to steal her purse.  The male was not successful and ran when a neighbor intervened.  The suspect was described as a white male, 35 – 40 years of age, 5’3” to 5’7” tall and weighing between 220 to 240 pounds.  The male was also described as balding with a scruffy beard.

An image of the male was captured on a nearby surveillance camera.  If anyone recognizes the male or has any information on the event, they are asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department at 765-807-1200, or through the anonymous WeTIP hotline at 800-78-CRIME.

Thank You,

Lieutenant Matt Gard
