Closure locations: South Street sidewalk and parking from 4th Street to 5th Street; 5th Street Southbound lane and sidewalk; Alabama Street Westbound lane and sidewalk. Detail summary of closures: Installing jersey barriers with chain link fence on top of barriers, closing off parking and sidewalk on the South side of South Street from the entry into Regions Bank parking lot, East to 5th Street; then the Southbound lane and sidewalk on 5th Street from South Street to Alabama Street; then the Westbound lane and sidewalk on Alabama Street from 5th Street to 4th Street.     From September 15 to September 30th, there will be a multiple street milling and paving operation.  The following streets will be affected during this time:  Shoeshone Dr, Summerfield Dr, Manitou Dr, Meadow Dr, and 36th St.  Equipment on site will include milling machines, backhoes, paving equipment, and brooms.  A flagging operation will be in place with adequate signage to warn the public of the work in progress.

    From September 17 to September 19 the alley that runs North and South, intersecting Main St and Columbia St will be closed to service the Centier Bank Letters located on the East side of the building.  This alley also runs parallel to N 2nd St and N 3rd St.  There will be a 60 ton crane set up in the area.

    On September 18, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, The Imagination Station will host the Hands On Transportation event at the Imagination Station located at 4th and Cincinnati Streets.  Cincinnati Street between 3rd and 4th streets will be closed and all other road traffic and parking will be restricted within the area of Cincinnati St. The intersection of 4th and vine will still be accessible to road traffic.  There will be traffic control on site and sidewalk closures.

    On September 18, the Lafayette Parks and Recreation and McAllister Recreation Center will host the Fourth Annual Father Daughter Dance.  There will be two sessions, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  

    This event will include a carriage ride around the McAllister block starting on 20th St, onto Roosevelt, 22nd, Albany, and back to 20th, and will be taking place from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  This is not expected to shut down any streets or access to houses, the carriages will be sharing the road with local traffic.  Attendance is expected to be around 150 persons.
