McAllister Park is named in recognition of the many generous contributions made by A.J. and Dorothy McAllister to the Lafayette Parks system. The scenic 280-acre park is located along the banks of the Wabash River. McAllister Park contains plenty of open green space, a model airplane strip, two disc golf courses, and a portion of the Wabash Heritage Trail. A bike path along North 9th Street connects the city to the park. Fishing is permitted on site; all state regulations apply.
