Closure locations: South Street sidewalk and parking from 4th Street to 5th Street; 5th Street Southbound lane and sidewalk; Alabama Street Westbound lane and sidewalk. Detail summary of closures: Installing jersey barriers with chain link fence on top of barriers, closing off parking and sidewalk on the South side of South Street from the entry into Regions Bank parking lot, East to 5th Street; then the Southbound lane and sidewalk on 5th Street from South Street to Alabama Street; then the Westbound lane and sidewalk on Alabama Street from 5th Street to 4th Street.     From September 27 to October 26, the intersection of 9th St and Kossuth will be completely closed for reconstruction.  Reconstruction will include the installation of new storm inlets and drains, new stone, new pavement, new handicap ramps, and a new drive approach on the Southeast side of 9th to the convenience store.

  10. Special Event - Jeff HS Marching Band Northern Regional Contest

    On October 16, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, the Lafayette Jefferson Band Boosters will be hosting the Indiana State School Music Association Regional Marching Contest.  There will be over 3,000 attendants to this event, as well as 150 vehicles.  Band arrival is expected to begin at 9:00 AM and arrivals are expected to continue until 5:00 PM. 

    Due to the amount of vehicles expected, 22nd Street between Teal Rd and Gregory St. will be closed to accommodate parking overflow.  Residents on these streets are advised to follow the detour onto 26th St to Gregory and then back to 22nd to access their drives.  There will be signs and barricades to alert the public, and an LPD officer will be present to help residents.
