    Construction of the Ellsworth Project, closures for construction, deliveries, hoisting and trash removal from 12/28/20 to 7/29/22. Closure locations: South Street sidewalk and parking from 4th Street to 5th Street; 5th Street Southbound lane and sidewalk; Alabama Street Westbound lane and sidewalk. Detail summary of closures: Installing jersey barriers with chain link fence on top of barriers, closing off parking and sidewalk on the South side of South Street from the entry into Regions Bank parking lot, East to 5th Street; then the Southbound lane and sidewalk on 5th Street from South Street to Alabama Street; then the Westbound lane and sidewalk on Alabama Street from 5th Street to 4th Street.     From October 12 to November 30, Midwest Electric will be working on the intersection at SR 38 and Park East Blvd.  During the daytime, there will be alternating one lane closures for the East and West lanes of traffic to allow for work on the loops and signals at this location.  Work will be on and off allowing for both weather and pole availability.

  8. Special Event - 5K Foot Pursuit (VENUE CHANGE)

    On October 30th, the Lafayette Police Department will host the 4th Annual 5K Foot Pursuit.  This event will start at 7:30 AM, with the race beginning at 9:00 AM.  This event will affect the following areas: Colombian Park, Cherokee Drive, and Park Avenue.

    The path is now as follows:  Exit the park from Cherokee Drive, turn left onto Park Avenue, and finish after two laps by turning onto Crescent Drive (near South St.) to finish the race.

    Event attendance is expected to be near 250 persons.  Traffic control barricades will be set up.

  9. Special Event - Northside Community Candy Cruise

    On October 30th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Salvation Army and Phoenix Recovery will be hosting the Northside Community Candy Cruise.  During this event N 12th St between Salem and Union will be closed to allow for the streets and sidewalks to accommodate the estimated 150 person attendance.  The event itself will take place between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.  There will be signs up to notify traffic of the closure, as well as barriers to prevent cars from entering the street - residents will be accommodated.  N 11th and N 13th will remain open for traffic.
