Citizens Police Academy

The Lafayette Police Department's Citizen's Academy is an educational outreach program designed to provide citizens a greater understanding of the inner-workings of their police department and of the role that law enforcement plays within the criminal justice system.

Classes

The Citizen's Academy meets 1 evening per week for 9-weeks, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. These classroom sessions are held at the Lafayette Police Training Center located at 1301 South St, Lafayette, IN. In addition to the classroom sessions, participants are encouraged to participate in "ride-alongs" with our patrol officers, allowing for a real-life perspective on contemporary policing.

Registration for our spring session is now live.  To register visit: Lafayette Police Citizens Academy
