Team Mission: The mission of the Lafayette Police Department CNT is the preservation of life during critical incidents through the art of negotiations. The types of critical incidents include but are not limited to; hostage, barricaded gunman, suicidal persons, and can include a combination of each. Members of the CNT are on call 24/7, receive specialized training, and undergo a lengthy selection process to join the team.
